This blog is a communication tool of IUP APSCUF. Local officers, committee chairs, and others will frequently use it to convey especially time-sensitive union news. From time to time, contributions may be solicited from faculty who have information and perspectives of value to the larger community.
While this blog is primarily intended to enhance communication between members of the faculty union, as a broadly accessible space, it also contributes to public perceptions of faculty and the faculty union. APSCUF members are encouraged to register and comment on posts. All contributors are called upon to maintain a professional demeanor. This space may be moderated by the site webmasters and their designees, with the aim of best serve member interests. Editorial decisions of the moderators will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Please abide by the following guidelines.
- post authors will be designated by IUP APSCUF leadership and/or web team
- commentators should be APSCUF members, validating their status by registering an iup.edu or iupapscuf.org email address;
- comments should be constructive, focused on issues of APSCUF interest and relevant to the discussion;
- commentators strive to respect diverse viewpoints and to articulate one’s own differences of opinion thoughtfully
The opinions expressed by authors are not necessarily those of IUP APSCUF nor the site maintainers. Authors take full responsibility for their communications. In an effort to maintain a functional space for public discussion, the following abusive conduct will not be tolerated:
- posting content that is vulgar, unlawful, or otherwise abusive;
- use of threatening language or use of the site for purposes of harassment
- sharing of private information about a person without their consent;
- posting content that is unlawful, racist, libelous, defamatory, obscene or harassing
- “spam,” “flaming,” or posting of duplicate comments
Abuse of the site will result in deletion of the offending comments; repeat offenders will be banned from the site.
